Tankless water heaters are known by different names: on-demand water heaters, point-of-use water heaters, and instant hot water heaters. Tankless water heater functions differently than tank-style water heaters. They run only when you’re using hot water. You never run out of hot water provided the tank less water heater is sized properly. Tankless water heaters are less expensive to run because they have no storage that requires constant heating and reheating. Since you're not storing water, mineral build up is less likely and gives tankless water heater 2 to 3 times more life time than a conventional water heater.
Tankless water heaters have an Energy Factor rating of .83 compared to an Energy Factor rating of .61 for tank-style water heaters, giving tankless water heaters an energy savings increase of 25 %. If you're having problems with running out of hot water, A&T Plumbing’s highly trained plumbers will properly size and install your tankless water heater.
Federal tax credits are available for qualifying tankless heaters (2009 to 2010).
Sewer & water installations
Nothing's worse than having raw sewage backing up in your home. In older homes, sewer lines are installed with clay pipe put together with cement. Through the years, the cement cracks and allows tree roots to get into the pipe and grow until it blocks or breaks sewer line.
Power rodding will cut out roots to open your drain. If your line is broken it will need to be repaired. We have a sewer camera available to inspect your sewer system to determine what extent of repairs are needed.
Water heaters
A leaking tank-style water heater can cause mold infestation and damage. As it ages, a tank-style water heater accumulates mineral deposits and sediment, which makes the water heater work harder and less efficiently. When it's time for a upgrade on your current system, A&T Plumbing’s highly trained plumbers have access to many styles of water heaters if its time for an upgrade on your current system. Water softeners
Water becomes hard as it flows through layers of rock underground picking up loose particles dissolving them from their surroundings. A water softener reduces the dissolved calcium, magnesium, and to some degree manganese and ferrous iron ion concentration in hard water.
These hardness ions cause major kinds of undesired effects. Most visibly, metal ions react with soaps and detergents hindering there ability to lather, and inhibits the cleaning effect of detergent formulations forming a bathtub ring. Calcium and magnesium carbonates tend to build-up scale in pipes , water heaters, faucets and fixtures that can lead to plumbing failures.
To insure proper sizing and calibration of water softener the hardness of water will need to be determined. A&T Plumbing's highly trained plumbers can test your water, and give you a free estimate for a new water softener
A leaking toilet can waste as much as 190 gallons of water per day. A simple dye test can determine if your toilet is leaking and needs repair.
Some of the earlier 1.6 gal toilets do not perform well, requiring more than flush to get the job done.
A&T Plumbing can repair your existing toilet or help you select a new high performance toilet.
